Infomobile M.K.O. was founded on 23 August 2016 in Athens, Greece. It grew out of the same name grassroots project that emerged 2009 from the no border camp in Lesbos.

Infomobile is a Greek NGO, based in Athens, which is focussing on the rights of the undocumented, refugees and migrants in this region from an antiracist approach. We are a multicultural team and seek to have mainly people with migration background among us.

Infomobile is providing people on the move with information concerning their rights in Greece and Europe, offer legal advise through street work, printed guides and social media, and in individual cases also strategically legal and humanitarian aid.

Infomobile documents human rights violations and publish reports about these to create awareness in the civil society, to increase political pressure for change and establish new tools for legal aid before authorities and courts.

Infomobile seeks to connect people on the move to organisations and groups offering help and strengthen networks of solidarity across borders.

Our work is directly connected to the platform.

The infomobile

... is like a “paper boat”. We chose this as a metaphor for what we want to create and for the situation of refugees and migrants in Greece. The paper boat is a folded boat able to swim – for a while. Then you have to build a new one to go on travelling. A paper boat is symbolic for the journey of life, vulnerable but in your own hands and to be recreated again and again. It is simple, but it carries many hopes and dreams. It can dance on a turbulent sea. It belongs to everybody. And it might become the small version – like a first draft – of a welcome-space.
